NAGAFF Calls for Patience as Nigeria Customs Fine-Tunes B’Odogwu Portal

By Babatunde Aremu

The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has acknowledged the efforts of the Nigeria Customs Service in implementing the indigenous B’Odogwu clearance system, a tool for trade facilitation.

However, the association has noted some challenges faced by freight forwarders in obtaining timely assessments from the portal.

Meanwhile, The Comptroller-General of Customs has been engaging with stakeholders and visiting various ports to ensure the smooth implementation of the B’Odogwu system.

NAGAFF highlighted the efforts of the management team, including stakeholders’ engagement across various area commands and visits to western and eastern ports to ensure operational efficiency.

It would be recalled that Recently, the Comptroller of Apapa Port visited NAGAFF headquarters and sister associations, and it’s on record that the Comptroller of Apapa, TCIP, PTML, and Federal Operations Unit shall be following up with stakeholders to inform, educate, and enlighten them about the system.

NAGASS is urging members and stakeholders to exercise patience as the Nigeria Customs Service fine-tunes the B’Odogwu system. The association acknowledges that the system is an indigenous information technology application designed to facilitate trade and enhance efficiency. By working together with stakeholders, the Nigeria Customs Service is committed to ensuring the successful implementation of the B’Odogwu system.
