Customs Achieves First PAAR Under B’Odogwu Trade Management System

The Nigeria Customs Service has successfully issued its first Pre-Arrival Assessment Report under the B’Odogwu Unified Customs Management System, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to technology-driven trade reforms.

The NCS issued its first PAAR under the B’Odogwu system on April 4, 2025, signaling the beginning of a nationwide rollout.

Streamlined Customs Procedures : The B’Odogwu system aims to modernize customs operations, enhance efficiency in trade documentation, and strengthen inter-agency collaboration.

– Nationwide Rollout: The NCS plans to expand the B’Odogwu system across all customs formations, targeting 80% coverage of its operations.

*Integration with Financial Institutions: The service is finalizing integrations with Authorized Dealer Banks to enable seamless foreign exchange transactions and trade-related payments.

– Revenue Generation: The PTML command generated over N120 billion in revenue within three months using the B’Odogwu platform.

– Enhanced Efficiency*: Streamlined customs procedures and trade documentation reduce clearance times and costs.

The NCS has reported significant revenue growth, with:
– N1.3 trillion collected in the first quarter of 2025, more than double the N600 billion collected in the same period in 2023.
– N6.58 trillion targeted revenue for 2025, reflecting confidence in the agency’s capabilities.
– 29.96% increase in revenue collection in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 ²
