NAGAFF Founder, Aniebonam Recommissions Compliance Team, tasks members on adherence to law

Founder of The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders Dr. Boniface Aniebonam on Friday Relaunched its Compliance Team at the New office location in Apapa Lagos describing the move as a renewed push to ensure strict adherence to laws and regulations governing Nigeria’s freight forwarding industry.

Speaking to members of the Board of Trustees, National Executive, the NAGAFF Compliance Team and journalists ,Dr. Aniebonam said the recommissioning is part of efforts to ensure that only qualified persons are involved in freight forwarding in order to add value to the renewed hope Agenda of President Tinubu .

” I am proud of ibrahim Tanko . Tanko is a Pride of NAGAFF, The President Chief Tochukwu EZisi and Dr. Segun Musa are significant to the progress of NAGAFF as you have seen here today . This New office is solely powered by Ibrahim Tanko , The President donated a Bus worth millions of Naira recently . Dr. Segun Musa built the Best secretariat at the Airport . These are indications that I am leaving behind people capable of taking over the leadership of the Association “– He said .

Members have also be advised to adhere to ethical standards in the discharge of their duties.

NAGAFF President, Chief Tochukwu EZisi spoke in the same vein. He applauded the commitment of Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko to the relaunch of the Association’s compliance Team and development of NAGAFF
Chief Ezisi assured the Compliance Team of the Total support of NAGAFF headquarters in the discharge of their duties.

For The National coordinator of the compliance Team , Alhaji ibrahim Tanko he warned that the 100% compliance Team is coming out fully in 2026 and beyond .

” As a freighforwarder you must be fully registered with NAGAFF before you register with Compliance Team. Every member must be in our Database. NAGAFF compliance Team is set to go digital”– He said

Alhaji Tanko informed the gathering that a similar office will be opened by the 100% compliance Team in Port Harcourt . .
He assured members that the compliance Team also has an agreement with the Economic and financial crimes commission ( EFCC) and other security agencies to ensure Efficiency in its operations.

The Compliance Team, was inaugurated in February 2021, serves as NAGAFF’s enforcement and intervention arm.

According to him, the Goal of the compliance Team is to ensure that freight forwarders and relevant government agencies comply with extant rules and regulations.

“We are not just recommissioning an office; we are relaunching ourselves more forcefully. We want people to know that we are not just back—we are forward-looking and fully committed to ensuring at least 90% compliance.

He identified non-compliance by both operators and some government agency personnel, often driven by personal interests as some of the challenges faced by the compliance Team.

He however assured of the commitment of the compliance Team to ensure Training of members, adding that continuous training remains central to the association’s philosophy of operating strictly on the side of the law.

NAGAFF was established in 2001 and it has over 1,000 members across various chapters natonwide.
