The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has i called on Nigerians to reflect on the nation’s trajectory and make informed choices as the country approaches the 2027 General elections.
In a statement signed by Dr. Eugene Nweke, Head of Communication and Strategy, the party emphasized the need for discipline, foresight, and rule of law in governance.
The NNPP cited Norway’s example, where oil revenues were managed with discipline, leading to sustainable economic growth. In contrast, Nigeria’s oil wealth has not translated into prosperity due to fiscal indiscipline, corruption, and weak institutions. The party urged political actors to adopt a new leadership paradigm, prioritizing national interest over personal gain.
The party called on Nigerians to reject vote-buying, demand issue-based campaigns, and hold leaders accountable. “Every vote cast must reflect a commitment to the future—not a compromise for temporary gains,” the statement read.
The party outlined key reforms, including strengthening sovereign wealth mechanisms, institutionalizing fiscal discipline, and promoting economic diversification.
“These are not optional reforms—they are existential imperatives,” the NNPP emphasized.
The statement concluded with a message of hope, urging Nigerians to rise with courage and conviction, adding that “there is hope for a greater Nigeria of our dreams.”
