…CP Lauds Gesture, Assures Sustained Security at Nation’s Seaports

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has donated security accoutrements to the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command as part of efforts to strengthen security across the nation’s seaports and waterfronts.
The donation, which took place on Wednesday, 29th July 2026, was made on behalf of the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, by the Port Manager, Lagos Port Complex (LPC), Mr. Adebowale Lawal, who was accompanied by other senior officials of the Authority.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Lawal stated that the gesture underscores the NPA’s commitment to enhancing the security architecture of the nation’s ports. He noted that the provision of the security accoutrements would further support the operational effectiveness of the Ports Authority Police in safeguarding critical maritime infrastructure, ensuring the safety of port users, and preventing any untoward incidents within the port environment and along the waterfronts.
The donated items included bulletproof vests, tactical helmets, raincoats, touch lights, handcuffs, operational boots, batons, and other essential operational equipment designed to enhance the efficiency, safety, and preparedness of police personnel in the discharge of their duties.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Command, the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police (Western) Command, CP Oluwatoyin Agbaminoja, psc, mnips, expressed profound appreciation to the Managing Director and the management of the Nigerian Ports Authority for the timely intervention and continued support to the Command.
The CP described the donation as a demonstration of the strong partnership between the Nigerian Ports Authority and the Nigeria Police Force in ensuring the security of the nation’s maritime gateways. She assured the management of the Authority that the equipment would be judiciously deployed to enhance policing operations and further strengthen security across the ports.
CP Agbaminoja reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and conducive environment for port operations, trade facilitation, and economic activities. She further pledged sustained collaboration with all maritime stakeholders to ensure Nigeria’s seaports remain safe, secure, and globally competitive.
