Apapa customs Launches First Aid Training, acquires lifesaving skills

By Babatunde Aremu

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Apapa Area Command has launched a comprehensive first aid training program for its officers and personnel. This initiative aims to boost emergency response and prioritize the health and safety of Customs personnel.

Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba emphasized that first aid is a vital life skill, especially for officers operating in high-risk environments. “Timely interventions like CPR, bleeding control, and stroke recognition can determine whether a victim survives or suffers long-term damage,” he said.

The training reflects the commitment of Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, to staff welfare and operational readiness. With Customs officers often working in remote areas, this training is a strategic investment in their safety and ability to respond to emergencies.
