Cautioning World Political & Religious Leaders to stop religion Manipulation and Weaponization
It is an appeal to world political & religious leaders to stop using religion as a tool for division and clarification!
Islam is understood to stand for peace, so it should be any other religions . We call upon world leaders to cease the manipulation and “weaponization” of religion for political gain, personal power, or to sow confusion and division among people. The use of religious identity as an incendiary “dog whistle” or as a justification for conflict is a dangerous game that undermines national cohesion, foments hatred, and endangers global peace and stability
History and current events show that when political figures exploit religious differences, it often results in suspicion, discrimination, and violence. Instead of using faith as a tool for division, leaders should promote interfaith dialogue and collaboration to combat hatred and foster a “Beloved & Peaceful Community” where tolerance and mutual respect are the cornerstones of coexistence Islam Stands for Peace The term “Islam” is linguistically derived from the same Arabic root letters (s-l-m) as the word for peace, salaam. While its primary religious meaning is “submission to the will of God,” the implication for believers is that this surrender leads to inner peace and harmony.
For the vast majority of its followers, Islam is understood as a religion that advocates for peace, mercy, and justice. The Quran encourages Muslims to live in peace and make peace treaties with those with whom they can. Verses that permit fighting are generally presented within the context of self-defense against oppression or those who break treaties, with strict prohibitions against harming non-combatants and a strong mandate to be just even with enemies.Interpretations that justify violence and extremism are considered by many mainstream Muslims to be a distortion of their faith.
In conclusion, Nigeria political and religious leaders that are becoming interwoven should be careful of engaging external instruments or institutions to destabilise the country for their own personal or selfish agenda of seeking power illegally or using confusions or wars and stop the use of religion as a tool to divide the population. Criticism of Islam and Defence of Christianity! Cristism of Christianity and Defence of Islam ! A game for destabilising our peaceful coexistence for new economy revival and independence in Nigeria 🇳🇬 Posterity shall not forgive you .
