ETO: NAGAFF applauds NPA-TTP efficient traffic management system in Apapa , Tincan ports

National Association of Government approved freight forwarders ( NAGAFF) has applauded the efficiency and standards set by Nigeria Ports Authority ( NPA) , Truck transit Park ( TTP ) with the use of ETO technology to ensure trade facilitation and traffic Management at Lagos Ports
The National President of NAGAFF, Chief Tochuckwu Esizi gave this commendation on Thursday at a Press conference in Lagos.
The NAGAFF President who was represented by National organising secretary of the Association, Mr. Godfrey Emeka Nwosu said NAGAFF cargo watch , eye witness account can report the positive outcomes of improved traffic management in Apapa, Tincan Ports.
” We are reliably informed that TTP limited has successfully processed approximately 2.7 million Port- bound truck movements through the ETO traffic management system. Over the past 49 months , under the supervision of the NPA , TTP ltd has contributed to a 65% reduction in the cost of transporting cargo to and from the Lagos ports . The typical turnaround time for trucks entering and exiting Apapa and Tincan Ports has reduced drastically from 2-3 weeks to less than 3 days”– He said
NAGAFF’ however submitted that much more is still needed to be done to reduce the delays in the movement of goods and boost Trade facilitation .
Chief Ezisi said
” We urge the relevant authorities to make concerted efforts to sustain and consolidate on these achievements .The old tradition of failing to build upon progress should be discarded ”
The Government has also been advised to develop the political will to monitor and ensure that the standards set by Truck transit Park ( TTP) is maintained
