” Our assessment of the roles of economic operators, Government agencies and service providers within the cargo clearance value chain reveals that addressing only the symptoms of corruption  while leaving it’s root causes  unaddressed has allowed negative trends to persist”- He said

“The Anti -corruption Vanguards of Freight forwarders of Nigeria has been officially re established to strengthen integrity and ethical conducts across Nigeria’s international trade and logistics system. FAVFFN will focus on five priority areas : public awareness and education, ethical compliance, strategic partnerships, confidential reporting and policy reform.

The front line freight forwarder  assured that that the Vanguards will embark on the enlightenment of young freight forwarders from various freight and customs representative associations across the logistics chain.

To ensure the success of tthe anti corruption Drive at the ports , Dr. Uche called on Nigeria customs service, the lead agency in cargo clearance , trade facilitation and revenue Generation to give the Vanguards maximum cooperation

Dr. Uche explained that this renewed mandate to eradicate corruption at the ports follows a highly impactive one- day training and sensitisation workshop held in Lagos State, in partnership with the independent corrupt practices and related offences commission ( ICPC).
