Maritime stakeholders rate Customs B’Odogwu Platform , Women’s Impact in the Industry High

Stakeholders in Nigeria’s maritime sector converged in Lagos on Tuesday November 4, 2025 for the maiden Edition of a one-day seminar organised by Hynek Media in conjunction with Media Anti corruption initiative.
They applauded the indigenous B’Odogwu digital platform, a tool that all agreed has ensured trade facilitation and ease of doing business in Nigeria.
Despite the initial technical challenges, Chairman of the event and Former President of ANLCA, Prince Olayiwola Shittu who was Ably represented by Mr. Babatunde Mukaila and other dignitaries recognized B’0dogwu as a transformative tool that has helped in reducing operational costs and enhancing trade facilitation.
Other Dignitaries ably represented at the event include Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam, founder of NAGAFF &NNPP, NAGAFF President Chief Tochuckwu Esizi and Maritime expert Dr. Segun Musa and Hadjia
Mrs. Rollens Macfoy, President of Women in Maritime Africa (WIMA)
and Princess Chi Eze, Vice President, Seaports also attended the event.
Speaker after Speaker at the seminar emphasized that B’Odogwu represents a significant step forward in localizing maritime technology and empowering indigenous solutions.
The event also highlighted the growing influence, leadership and innovation if women in the maritime industry
They recognized the outstanding role of
– DCG Kikelomo Adeola – leading Customs modernization
– Comptroller Hauwa Abubakar – overseeing Lekki Free Trade Zone
– Comptroller Joy Edelduok – heading KLT Customs Command
These women according to them continue to standout for their strategic contributions and trailblazing roles in shaping the future of Nigeria’s maritime landscape.
The seminar also featured the Presentation of Awards to Prince Olayiwola Shittu, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam’ and other stakeholders for their outstanding contributions to the success of the seminar.
