NAGAFF Board Urges Professionalism and Government Intervention in Freight Forwarding practice
By Babatunde Aremu
The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) Board In-Council has expressed concerns over recent developments in the freight forwarding industry, particularly after the appointment of Mr. Kingsley Igwe as the current Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
According to a statement signed by Dr. Clement Iwegbuna, Head of Special Duties of NAGAFF’s Board, the association initially chose to remain calm to avoid being seen as patronizing or partisan.
However, following a press conference held on July 18, 2024, by four associations – ANLCA, AREFF, NAFFAC, and NCMDLCA – NAGAFF felt compelled to set the record straight.
The Board poimted out that the These associations are among the five duly accredited, controlled, and regulated by CRFFN. It however expressed surprise that the associations aforementioned have deliberately decided to undermine the CRFFN.
The association’s concerns stem from the actions of these four associations, which NAGAFF believes are creating unnecessary disturbances in the industry.
NAGAFF urges stakeholders to maintain professionalism in freightforwarding practices and calls on the federal government to sanction alleged saboteurs understanding the industry’s stability
By promoting professionalism and urging government intervention, NAGAFF aims to foster a more stable and regulated environment for freight forwarding professionals in Nigeria
