NCJTF President moves to partner with MARAN over maritime Industry Challenges

The National President of the National Compliance Joint Taskforce of Licensed Clearing Agents, NCJTF-LCA, Dr.Basil Nwolisa, has moved to seek partnership with the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria, MARAN to address incessant challenges confronting Nigeria’s maritime industry.
Dr. Nwolisa During an official visit to the Headquarters of MARAN in Apapa, Lagos on Thursday disclosed the Taskforce’s preparedness to tackle corruption and double standards which according to him has become a clog in the wheel of progress in the maritime industry and on Nigeria’s highways.
He lamented that Nigeria’s the maritime industry has continued to experience with:failure to comply with rules and regulations guiding the industry which includes incessant arrests and seizures of containers that have been duly examined by the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, deliberate delays faced by Customs clearing agents at various terminals as well as extortion of trucks on Nigeria’s highways.
He described these issues as National embarrassment to Nigeria country in thecommittee of other Nations.
The visit to MARAN by the President provided the Taskforce the opportunity to extend an invitation to MARAN for their Third Anniversary Celebration scheduled to hold on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Rockview Hotel, Festac Town.
The event according to him is expected to feature activities to celebrate the birthday celebration of Dr. Nwolisa.
He emphasized that the Taskforce’s visit to MARAN is part of efforts to build collabaration with relevant stakeholders to realise the set objectives of promoting competence, efficiency, accountability and productivity in the maritime industry .
