The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has firmly declared that its 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, will not contest the 2027 presidential election on its platform.
NNPP National Chairman Dr. Agbo Major announced this on Saturday in a statement responding to claims by Elder Buba Galadima that Kwankwaso would remain in the party and run for president.
The NNPP reaffirmed that the party expelled Kwankwaso and Galadima for anti-party activities, terminating their Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwankwasiya Movement after the 2023 elections.
Dr. Major emphasized that Kwankwaso will not be allowed to return to the party due to internal conflicts and attempts to hijack the party’s leadership.
The NNPP chairman doubted Kwankwaso’s ability to match President Bola Tinubu in any contest, describing his ambition as “dead on arrival”.
