The Tincan Island Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced a remarkable revenue generation of ₦159 billion in August 2025.

This impressive feat was disclosed by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Tincan island Port command of Nigeria customs service, Comptroller Frank Onyeka, during a ceremony to decorate newly promoted officers with their new ranks.

Comptroller Onyeka attributed the command’s revenue success to the effective implementation of the B’Odogwu and trade modernization systems.

“B’ODOGWU is doing well and it will do better. It has come to stay,” he said, highlighting the system’s pivotal role in enhancing revenue collection and streamlining port operations.

The B’Odogwu system has integrated all key elements of port and customs operations under one digital interface, enabling faster processing, accurate valuation, and enhanced monitoring of cargo activities .

The promotion exercise, which saw 89% of officers in the command receiving new ranks, was described by the CAC as a testament to the leadership qualities of the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, the performance of the CAC, and the hard work of the officers being promoted.

The Public Relations Officer of the Tincan Island Command, Oscar Ivara, was also among those decorated with their new rank.

Comptroller Onyeka urged the promoted officers to maintain their high level of performance, saying, “Keep the flag flying without being misunderstood.” This statement underscores the command’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to enhancing trade facilitation, securing revenue for national development, and supporting all port users in achieving timely and cost-effective cargo clearance ².
