The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) launched B’Odogwu, a Unified Customs Management System designed to revolutionize customs operations and boost trade efficiency in the maritime industry.

The primary objectives of B’Odogwu as pointed out by the Comptroller General of customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi are to:
Enhance Trade Facilitation by Streamlining customs processes, reduce clearance times, and increase the ease of doing business.
B’ODOGWU also aims to Improve Revenue Collection, Increase revenue generation through efficient and transparent customs operations
B’Odogwu is designed to Promote Transparency and Accountability ,Provide real-time data and tracking capabilities to ensure compliance and reduce corruption in the system.
The system is also geared towards Fostering Collaboration and Integrate key stakeholders, including terminal operators, clearing agents, ship owners, and government agencies, to enable seamless data sharing and coordination.
B’Odogwu offers numerous benefits for stakeholders in the maritime industry to enable faster cargo release and improved supply chain management.
It is however pertinent for stakeholders to note that it is the responsibility of all to ensure Improved Compliance that will enhance Revenue Generation , Efficient and transparent customs operations and ensure reduced revenue leakage .
