CP Agbaminoja Hosts New Tincan Island Customs Comptroller Anani, Pledges Stronger Port Security Synergy

The newly appointed Controller of Customs, Tincan Island Port Area Command, Comptroller JA Anani, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ports Authority Police Command, CP Oluwatoyin Iyabode Agbaminoja, at the Command Headquarters in Apapa, Lagos.

The visit was aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration and deepening synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Nigeria Police Force to secure Nigeria’s maritime domain and facilitate legitimate trade.

Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Anani commended the Ports Authority Police (Western) Command for its commitment to maintaining security and public order within the port environment. He stressed that sustained cooperation among security and regulatory agencies is critical to tackling emerging challenges and ensuring smooth port operations.

In her response, CP Agbaminoja welcomed the Customs Controller and congratulated him on his appointment. She reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to work closely with the Nigeria Customs Service and other stakeholders to strengthen security architecture across the nation’s seaports.

The Commissioner noted that effective collaboration, intelligence sharing, and joint drills remain critical to combating criminal activities within the maritime sector and safeguarding critical national assets.

Both leaders pledged to deepen the existing partnership between their agencies in pursuit of a secure, efficient, and globally competitive maritime ecosystem.
