The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has deepened its engagement with the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Anti-Corruption and Integrity Promotion (A-CIP) Programme, showcasing its commitment to institutional integrity and global best practices.

Comptroller-General Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, Chairperson of the WCO Council, met with the A-CIP Team in Brussels, Belgium, on March 23, 2026, to discuss progress on collaboration, including integrity capacity-building and risk assessment exercises.

The A-CIP Team commended NCS for its participation in the WCO integrity survey and approval of survey outcomes, highlighting ongoing reforms such as valuation review mechanisms and post-clearance audit processes.

Adeniyi expressed appreciation for the partnership, emphasizing NCS’s resolve to sustain progress. Both parties agreed on forward-looking actions, including publishing survey results, training an Implementation Working Group, and integrating recommendations into NCS processes.

The Comptroller-General also met with WCO Secretary-General Ian Saunders, exchanging updates on Policy Commission and Council work.
