Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim Reappointed as Fountain University, VC for Second Term

The Governing Council of *Fountain University, Osogbo, Osun State*, has approved the reappointment of *Prof. Olayinka Ramota Karim* as Vice-Chancellor for a second and final term of four years.
In a landmark and unanimous decision at its *67th Meeting held on Monday, 21st September, 2026*, Council approved that the new term will run from *1st March, 2027 to 28th February, 2031*.
The decision, according to Council, was reached after careful consideration and robust deliberation, in recognition of the unprecedented achievements, breakthroughs and laudable initiatives recorded under her visionary leadership.
Presenting the decision, the *Chairman of Council, Dr. AWA Ibraheem, FCA*, eulogised the doggedness, charisma, humility, perseverance and exceptional leadership acumen of the Vice-Chancellor, describing her as an energetic, resourceful and goal-getter woman of substance who has surpassed every target set before her in her first tenure.
Council noted that under Professor Karim, the *first female Vice-Chancellor in the history of the University*, Fountain University has witnessed a golden era of transformation.
This includes massive infrastructure expansion, full accreditation of academic programmes, introduction of new high-demand programmes, soaring student enrolment, global partnerships, staff welfare revolution and deepening of the University’s Islamic identity.
According to Council, the reappointment is for *continuity and consolidation*.
_“Having laid a solid foundation, Professor Karim is now tied down for another four years with even greater expectations to sail the Fountain to higher national and global glory,”_ Council stated.
The Chairman and other members of Council congratulated Professor Karim and appreciated her for the wonderful job done, expressing great hope that she will continue from where she stopped.
Members of Senate have warmly welcomed the development, describing it as well-deserved and a vote of confidence in purposeful leadership, while the Management team expressed profound gratitude to Council for making the right decision in the best interest of the University.
The entire University community has erupted in jubilation, celebrating a leader whose first tenure redefined excellence and whose second tenure promises even greater exploits.
Council prayed that Almighty Allah grant her and her management team the strength, uncommon favour and wherewithal to sail the ship of Fountain University to greater heights.
